Mold
A type of fungus that plays a natural role in breaking down organic matter in the environment. Indoors, however, mold becomes a health concern when it grows in moisture-rich areas such as walls, ceilings, or flooring affected by water damage. Mold reproduces by releasing airborne spores that settle and grow on damp surfaces, potentially causing structural damage and respiratory issues if left untreated.
